SBU maintains accreditation while on probation
Southwest Baptist University (SBU) announced today that it continues to be accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) after a review of governance matters. SBU's status has changed to Accredited (Probation) for a period of not more than two years. During this season, HLC will review how the school and its Board of Trustees have addressed three governance matters out of 18 Core Components it uses to accredit universities.
SBU Theatre will present "As it is in Heaven" on Nov. 11-13
Southwest Baptist University Theatre will present "As it is in Heaven," directed by guest director Matt Bender, on Nov. 11-13 in Davis-Newport Theatre on the Bolivar campus. This marks the second production of SBU Theatre's 2021-2022 season.

ECC, SBU sign articulation agreement for A.A. in Teaching transfer opportunities
East Central College and Southwest Baptist University signed an articulation agreement on Friday, Nov. 5, to provide ECC graduates who earn an Associate of Arts in Teaching degree a smooth transition into SBU's bachelor of science in elementary education program.

SBU Applied Voice students to present recital Nov. 5
Southwest Baptist University's Applied Voice students will present Liederabend (an evening of music) at 3:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5 in Meyer Recital Hall on the Bolivar campus.

University Singers in concert Nov. 9
The University Singers of Southwest Baptist University will present its fall concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 9 in Pike Auditorium. The performance is free and open to the public.
SBU Chorale to present Fall concert Nov. 4
The Chorale of Southwest Baptist University will present its Fall concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.
SBU's "The Awakening" student-led event returns Nov. 5-7
"The Awakening," a three-day student-led event for the sole purpose of seeking God to bring revival within the University family and Bolivar community, returns for its second year Friday-Sunday, Nov. 5-7, in Mabee Chapel on the Bolivar campus.

SBU president to trustees: 'I believe our greatest days are ahead'
SBU President Dr. Rick Melson presented a "State of the University" address during the fall SBU Board of Trustees meeting Tuesday, Oct. 19, providing a current picture of enrollment trends at the university as well as optimism for the future and exciting highlights at SBU.
