The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we go about our day-to-day lives. It has claimed thousands of lives and sickened many more. During these vulnerable and uncertain times, Southwest Baptist University alumni are stepping in and stepping up where they are to be the servant leaders they are called to be. A few of our alumni, who are doing just that, were featured in the most recent edition of SBUlife.
As a young girl, Meilani Conley '08 developed an interest in computers. And, it actually began when she was attempting to fix her dad's computer. Her drive continued when her interests and abilities were challenged.
Dakota Kay '19 is able to serve his Native American people as a physical therapist thanks to gifts to the Annual Scholarship Fund.
Bill Shell was a highly decorated track and field athlete at Southwest Baptist University - he was an SBU record-holder, a conference title winner and an NCAA All-American. These achievements have earned Shell a place in the SBU Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2020, in his first year of eligibility.

Jody Mayfield-Pool put up big numbers during her basketball career at Southwest Baptist University. Once her playing days were over, Mayfield-Pool ranked second in field goals made, fifth in total points, tied for fifth in scoring average, tied for eighth in field goal percentage and ninth in total rebounds. And, for her efforts she will be inducted into the SBU Athletics Hall of Fame on Jan. 11, 2020.

During his four-year playing career, Landon Young '14 was an integral part in helping turn around the Southwest Baptist University baseball program.

As a tennis player at Southwest Baptist College, Mark Rains '70 was key to leading the Bearcats to a great deal of success, especially his last two seasons.
