SBU announces Homecoming queen and king candidates for 2019

Southwest Baptist University students have nominated five seniors as candidates for Homecoming Queen and five candidates for Homecoming King. These candidates have been selected by their peers, and the winning King and Queen will be announced at the Homecoming football game at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19.

SBU accepting float, band registrations for Homecoming parade

Southwest Baptist University will host the annual Homecoming parade at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 19. Local businesses and organizations are invited to have a float in the parade.

SBU Theatre opens 2019-2020 season with "Steel Magnolias"

The Southwest Baptist University Theatre program opens the 2019-2020 season with the timeless play "Steel Magnolias," written by American playwright Robert Harling. The show will be presented at 7 p.m. Sept. 26-28 in the Davis-Newport Theater on the Bolivar campus.

SBU Wind Symphony to present "A Potpourri of Wind Music" on Oct. 3

The Southwest Baptist University Department of Music's Wind Symphony will be in concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.

Walker, Ast named CGC Nations Award recipients

Southwest Baptist University's Center for Global Connections honored an SBU employee and an SBU alumnus with its annual Nations Award during the Global Connections Week Chapel service on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

SBU to offer cybersecurity service Sept. 14 at Cyberhealth Day

Southwest Baptist University's student chapter of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) and the student chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL - the college version of Future Business Leaders of America) will offer a free cybersecurity service at its Cyberhealth Day on Sept. 14 at the Gene Taylor Free Enterprise Center on the Bolivar campus.

SBU Community Concert Series opens second season on Oct. 17

The SBU Department of Music announces the second season of the SBU Community Concert Series and the William and Kathy Brown Guest Artist Series, both of which bring national and international guest performers to the SBU and Bolivar communities, for the 2019-2020 season.

Bolivar Community Chorus to host kick-off event Sept. 6

The Southwest Baptist University Department of Music will host a membership kick-off event for the Bolivar Community Chorus to be held at 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 6 in the Casebolt Music Center.
