SBU Homecoming little sisters, little brothers selected

Southwest Baptist University has selected the "little sisters" and "little brothers" for Homecoming 2017. Each child will escort a king and queen or prince and princess candidate during the Homecoming parade at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 23. The "little sisters" and "little brothers" are grandchildren or children of SBU employees.

SBU names Homecoming queen and king candidates

Southwest Baptist University students have nominated five seniors as candidates for Homecoming Queen and five candidates for Homecoming King. These candidates have been selected by their peers, and the winning King and Queen will be announced at the homecoming football game at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23.

Belz to give poetry reading at SBU

The Barnett-Padgett Literary Artist Series of Southwest Baptist University will be presenting poet Aaron Belz in a reading of his work at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 28, in Rohrs Auditorium of the Taylor Center on the Bolivar campus.

SBU hosts the McCain Duo for guest artist recital

The Southwest Baptist University Department of Music welcomes guest artists Dr. Martin McCain and Dr. Artina McCain as they perform solo and duo repertoire for trombone and piano at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 21, in the Meyer Recital Hall of the Casebolt Music Building on the Bolivar campus.

SBU hosts ribbon-cutting ceremony to dedicate Plaster College, re-dedicate Taylor Center

Southwest Baptist University dedicated the Robert W. Plaster College of Business and Computer Science and re-dedicated the Gene Taylor National Free Enterprise Center in a ribbon-cutting ceremony held Thursday, Sept. 7, outside the Taylor Center on the Bolivar campus.

Hardin to speak at SBU's Constitution Day

Dr. John Hardin will be the featured speaker at Southwest Baptist University's Constitution Day at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 15, in the Joe Roberts Room of the McClelland Dining Facility on the Bolivar campus.

SBU still accepting float, band registrations

Southwest Baptist University will host the annual Homecoming parade at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 23. Local businesses and organizations are invited to have a float in the parade.

SBU's DPT, BSW programs partner to enhance students' learning, expand community services

Southwest Baptist University's Doctor of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) programs are partnering to enhance the learning of social work students on the Bolivar campus, as well as expanding services for area residents.
