SBU to host student competition art show
Southwest Baptist University will host the SBU Student Show and Competition art exhibition Tuesday, March 29 through Friday, April 8. The show features pieces submitted by students across campus in mediums including drawing, painting, fibers, graphic art, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking and photography.
Miller Management Systems establishes SBU Accounting scholarship
Miller Management Systems, LLC (MMS) has established the MMS Excellence in Non-Profit Accounting and Leadership Scholarship to benefit top Southwest Baptist University accounting students, starting with the 2016-2017 academic year.

SBU to hold three commencement ceremonies
Southwest Baptist University will graduate students at three commencement ceremonies this spring. The Bolivar campus will host two ceremonies on Saturday, May 14, including the undergraduate commencement at 10 a.m. and the graduate ceremony at 3 p.m. The Springfield campus (Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences of SBU) graduation ceremony will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 12.
SBU to host Spring Opera Scenes
Southwest Baptist University Opera Theatre will host Spring Opera Scenes at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31, in Meyer Recital Hall of the Casebolt Music Center.
SBU hosts Barnett-Padgett Literary Artist Series lecture
Southwest Baptist University's Barnett-Padgett Literary Artist Series will feature Dr. Jordan Cofer at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 31, in room 230 in the Jester Learning and Performing Center on the SBU campus. His talk, entitled "The Gospel According to Flannery O'Connor," will be followed by a question and answer time.

Josh Johnson of Raymore receives SBU Library award
Southwest Baptist University student Josh Johnson of Raymore, Mo., was honored by the SBU University Libraries as the Outstanding Student Assistant of the Month for February 2016.

Former Southwest Baptist University President Dr. Charles Leonard Chaney passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016.
SBU to host world music concert
The Southwest Baptist University Concert Choir and Bolivar Community Choir will present a world music concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, in Pike Auditorium on the SBU campus.
