SBU Chamber Singers to perform in racquetball courts
The Chamber Singers of Southwest Baptist University will present a concert of early choral music on Thursday, April 5, in the racquetball courts of the Meyer Wellness Center on the Bolivar campus.

Speaking Bearcats win fifth state title in six years
For the fifth time in six years, the Southwest Baptist University Speaking Bearcats are state champions after capturing the Overall Sweepstakes in the open division of the Missouri Association of Forensics Activities Championship held Feb. 16-17 at Truman State University in Kirksville.

Southwest Baptist University recently hosted visiting faculty from China, who are studying at Missouri State University.
SBU presents Roweton, Welch with honorary doctorates
Ellen Rose Douglas Roweton of Bolivar, and Thomas B. Welch, '78 of Victoria, Minn., received Honorary Doctor degrees from Southwest Baptist University during the annual Founders' Day chapel service held Monday, March 5, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.

Almeida, Rose crowned Mr. and Miss Southwest
Joao Vitor Silva de Almeida, an exercise science major from Campo Grande, Brazil, and Tali Rose, a social work major from Gainesville, Mo., won the titles of Mr. and Miss Southwest at the annual pageant on Friday, March 2, at Southwest Baptist University.
