SBU students honored at Kennedy Center Theatre Festival
Southwest Baptist University theatre students recently were honored at the 51st annual Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, which celebrates work by colleges and universities in the eight-state region during 2018, on Jan. 20-25, 2019, in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Hsu to present piano recital for SBU Community Concert Series on Feb. 14
The SBU Community Concert Series continues with a piano recital presented by Brian Keng-Lun Hsu at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 14 in Meyer Recital Hall on the Bolivar campus of Southwest Baptist University.

SBU trustees affirm Baptist Faith and Message 2000
During a special session of the Southwest Baptist University Board of Trustees on Jan. 22, the Board voted to affirm its longstanding commitment to traditional Baptist theology, including the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

24 nursing students to begin classes on SBU's Bolivar campus Jan. 23
After a successful site visit from the Missouri State Board of Nursing on Tuesday, Jan. 8, the State Board granted initial approval for Southwest Baptist University to begin a pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program on the Bolivar campus.

SBU commissions peer assessment committee
Southwest Baptist University has commissioned an external peer assessment committee that will lead a University-wide dialogue regarding faith and learning. Included within this assessment will be deeper conversations and evaluations regarding orthodoxy.
Committee of trustees conducts appeal hearing
Pursuant to the appeal process as outlined in Southwest Baptist University's Faculty Handbook, the Educational Policies and Personnel Committee of the SBU Board of Trustees met Dec. 21. The committee conducted an approximately five-hour appeal hearing with an employee.
Fong presents at international conference in Malaysia
Southwest Baptist University's Dr. Benny Fong, assistant professor of graduate education and statistics, recently presented at the International Christian Educator Conference (ICEC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
