SBU to award honorary doctorates to Clemmons, Kanakis
Rev. Barbara Ruth Clemmons of Seabrook, Texas, and Lee Kanakis, of Bartlesville, Okla., will receive honorary doctorates from Southwest Baptist University during the annual Founders' Day chapel service at 10 a.m. Monday, March 4, in Pike Auditorium. SBU awards honorary doctorates to recognize outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to society and to kingdom work.

Two SBU students to be crowned Mr. and Miss Southwest at annual pageant
Southwest Baptist University continues the tradition of honoring one male and one female student each year at the annual Mr. and Miss Southwest Pageant, which takes place this year at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 1, in Pike Auditorium on the SBU campus.

SBU Theatre to present "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" on March 7-9
Southwest Baptist University's theatre department will present the musical comedy "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" by Clark Gesner at 7 p.m., March 7-9 in the Davis-Newport Theater on the Bolivar campus.

SBU's Wind Symphony to present "Winds and Friends" on March 7
The Southwest Baptist University Department of Music will present "Winds and Friends," featuring the SBU Wind Symphony, at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 7, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.

Bedell, Rehm selected to attend Governor's Student Leadership Forum
Southwest Baptist University's Chance Bedell and Slate Rehm were two of 80 college students nominated to represent their schools during the 32nd annual Missouri Governor's Student Leadership Forum on Faith and Values on Jan 9-11, 2019.

Cragin-Day conducts playwriting workshop for SBU Theatre
Southwest Baptist University Theatre hosted New York City-based playwright Chris Cragin-Day as a representative of The King's College's Study in the City program on Feb. 8.

Speaking Bearcats place third at Gorlok Gala
The Southwest Baptist University Speaking Bearcats kicked off the second half of the 2018-2019 season at the 21st Scott Jensen Gorlok Gala Tournament on Jan. 25-27, hosted by Webster University in St. Louis.
