More than 200 students to graduate at SBU winter commencement ceremonies
Southwest Baptist University is set to graduate 204 students at two winter 2018 commencement ceremonies. The SBU Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences will hold winter commencement at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, and the ceremony for all other graduates is at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14. Both ceremonies will be held in the Jane and Ken Meyer Wellness and Sports Center.

Brinkman receives SBU Library Award
Southwest Baptist University student Olivia Brinkman of Springfield, Mo., was honored by the SBU University Libraries as the Outstanding Student Assistant of the Month for October 2018.
Speaking Bearcats have strong showing in Thanksgiving tournaments
The Southwest Baptist University Speaking Bearcats kicked off the Thanksgiving break with a pair of tournaments in Bowling Green, Ohio, posting strong results in both the Falcon Classic on Nov. 17 and the Birds of a Feather tournament on Nov. 18.

Meadows presents at National Honors Council Conference
Southwest Baptist University's Dr. Jodi Meadows recently was selected as a presenter during the 53rd annual National Collegiate Honors Council conference in Boston, Mass.

SBU team tops among Missouri undergrad-only computing programs
Southwest Baptist University's Department of Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) Competitive Programming teams took top honors among Missouri undergraduate-only computing programs recently at the IBM-sponsored Mid-Central Region International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC).

SBU Jazz Ensemble in concert Nov. 27
The Southwest Baptist University Jazz Ensemble will be featured in concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.
SBU raises more than $111,000 in fifth, final CatFight Giving Challenge
Alumni and supporters of Southwest Baptist and Drury universities raised a combined $265,245 and surpassed the $500,000 combined fundraising benchmark during the fifth and final Bank of Bolivar CatFight Giving Challenge, which has helped raise money for each school's annual fund.

Hopkins presents at NCTM Regional Conference
Southwest Baptist University's Dr. Kevin Hopkins, professor and chair of the SBU Department of Mathematics, presented at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Regional Conference and Exposition on Nov. 2 in Kansas City.
