When he was in high school, Evan Kirksey was shy - "kind of nerdy and kind of introverted," he says. To help him overcome his shyness, Evan's father, Daren '87, '89, urged him to join speech and debate at Willard High School.
A life of service, mission and inspiration
In preparation for the mission field, Janice Sartin '64 earned her associate of arts degree from Southwest Baptist College, a BS in elementary education from then-Southwest Missouri State University, a master's in social work from Tulane University and a master's in religious education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. But, God had other plans for "Ms. Janice."
Johnson assumes Interim President role at SBU
Southwest Baptist University's Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Brad Johnson as interim president during a Feb. 16 board meeting as the board begins its search for the University's 26th president. Johnson has served as acting president since Nov. 21.
