SBU cybersecurity degree receives national recognition

Southwest Baptist University received national recognition for its cybersecurity degree as one of the first colleges in the nation to receive the prestigious accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), which extends retroactively from Oct. 1, 2019.

Yantis, Farris named SBU Homecoming King and Queen

Coleman Yantis and Abigail Farris were announced as the 2021 Southwest Baptist University Homecoming King and Queen at halftime of the Bearcats' football game against the University of Indianapolis on Oct. 2.

SBU recognizes eight alumni with Life Service awards during Honors Chapel

Eight Southwest Baptist University alumni were honored with special awards in recognition of living lives of service at Honors Chapel on Friday, Oct. 1. The event marked the beginning of Homecoming festivities and also featured the presentation of the 2021 Homecoming court.

SBU to host Clark in guest artist piano recital Sept. 30

The Southwest Baptist University Division of Arts & Humanities will host guest artist Dr. Michael Clark, who will present a piano recital at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 30 in Meyer Recital Hall on the Bolivar campus.

SBU to present alumni awards during Homecoming Honors Chapel

Homecoming festivities at Southwest Baptist University will begin with Honors Chapel at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1, in Pike Auditorium, when eight alumni will be recognized for living lives of service.

SBU Homecoming little brothers, little sisters selected

Southwest Baptist University has selected the "little brothers" and "little sisters" for Homecoming 2021. Each child will escort a king and queen or prince and princess candidate during the Homecoming parade at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 2. The "little brothers" and "little sisters" are children or grandchildren of SBU employees.

SBU announces Homecoming King and Queen candidates for 2021

Southwest Baptist University students have nominated five seniors as candidates for Homecoming King and five candidates for Homecoming Queen. These candidates have been selected by their peers, and the winning King and Queen will be announced at the Homecoming football game at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2.

Return home lands Grabowski in SBU Athletics Hall of Fame

As a senior at Bolivar High School, Jim Grabowski thought he wanted to go away to college to continue his academic and athletic career. But he soon discovered that everything he wanted was right in his own backyard.
