SBU ANNOUNCES FALL 2016 CHAPEL SCHEDULE

Southwest Baptist University welcomes students, staff and the community to fall semester Chapel and Equip services, which take place weekly at 10 a.m. on campus in Pike Auditorium beginning Monday, Aug. 22 through Wednesday, Dec. 7. Chapel services, which occur on Mondays, feature corporate worship and encouragement, and Equip services, which occur on Wednesdays, focus on teaching and equipping.

SBU WELCOMES NEW FACULTY FOR 2016-2017 ACADEMIC YEAR

Southwest Baptist University is pleased to announce five new faculty members for the 2016-2017 academic year. SBU's faculty is integral in the University's mission to be a Christ-centered, caring academic community preparing students to be servant leaders in a global society.

SBU HOSTS VISITING ARTIST TO OPEN 2016-2017 ACADEMIC YEAR

Southwest Baptist University will host its first visiting artist exhibit for the 2016-2017 academic year when the works of Russell Horton will be featured from Aug. 22 through Sept. 16 at the Driskill Art Gallery on the Bolivar campus.

SBU faculty to be honored as academic chairs at formal convocation

Angela Brown-Peterson and Dr. Timothy Wood will be honored with the designation of academic chair at Southwest Baptist University's Formal Convocation, which will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.

SBU's Johnson selected to serve on CIAO Commission

Dr. Brad Johnson, vice president for university relations at Southwest Baptist University, has been appointed to serve on the Chief Institutional Advancement Officer Commission of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities.

SBU launches varsity eSports program for fall 2016

Southwest Baptist University is one of about 15 colleges and universities in the nation to offer eSports as a varsity athletics program, with scholarships available for the 2016 fall semester.

Organizations welcome at SBU Volunteer Fair

The social work program at Southwest Baptist University will host a campus-wide Volunteer Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, Aug. 29, in the Goodson Student Union on SBU's Bolivar campus.

SBU receives funding that will help address nursing shortage in southwest Missouri

Southwest Baptist University has received $230,000 in funds to administer a loan program that will help address the area's nursing shortage by providing a new financial aid option for some students at SBU's Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences in Springfield.
