SBU High School Marketing Competition

Attention Educators!

  • Looking for a real-world opportunity for your students?
  • Want them to learn about advertising, marketing, and research?
  • Do you want your students to expand their creative efforts? 

What is SBU’s High School Marketing Challenge? 

Teams of high school students are charged with developing a solution to a stated advertising challenge. The teams’ primary goal is to develop creative and effective ways to reach and inform the target audience about the issue while ensuring the creative elements of the campaign are based on research and thoughtful decision-making.  

Who?

SBU invites you and your students to participate in the High School Marketing Challenge. 

What are the Rules?

Each campaign presentation must include a written and oral component. Competition guidelines and requirements are in this document. Each team of students will work on the same project. A panel of judges will make the final decision and determine the winners. 

When & Where

HSMC Competition will be Wednesday, October 16, 2024. 
Location: Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo, Taylor Free Enterprise Building 
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. 

Why?

This competition will provide your students will real-world applications and experience from what they are learning in the classroom.  Teamwork, meeting deadlines, engaging their creativity, compromising on ideas, and being invested in the outcome, will all provide valuable lessons to your students. 
Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

Register

All local high schools are eligible to participate with as many as four teams per school. Teams should be 2-4 students.  

Deadline for team registration is Tuesday, October 8, 2024

Number of Teams
Schools with more than one team participating in the marketing competition must submit separate registration forms for each team.
Please only complete the information for team members 3 and 4 if there are more than two individuals on the team.
