SBU announces Homecoming queen and king candidates for 2018
Southwest Baptist University students have nominated five seniors as candidates for Homecoming Queen and five candidates for Homecoming King. These candidates have been selected by their peers, and the winning King and Queen will be announced at the Homecoming football game at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29.

SBU Homecoming little sisters, little brothers selected
Southwest Baptist University has selected the "little sisters" and "little brothers" for Homecoming 2018. Each child will escort a king and queen or prince and princess candidate during the Homecoming parade at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 29. The "little sisters" and "little brothers" are grandchildren or children of SBU employees.

SBU hosts Clark for guest artist piano recital
The Southwest Baptist University Department of Music welcomes guest artist Michael Clark for a solo piano recital at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, in the Meyer Recital Hall of the Casebolt Music Building on the Bolivar campus.
Jones, Bramwell given CGC Nations Awards
Southwest Baptist University's Center for Global Connections honored two recipients with its annual Nations Award during the Global Connections Week Chapel service on Monday, Sept. 10.
Float, band registrations being accepted for Homecoming
Southwest Baptist University will host its annual Homecoming parade at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 29. Local businesses and organizations are invited to have a float in the parade.

SBU faculty saxophone recital on Sept. 18 to feature Waters
The Southwest Baptist University Department of Music will present a faculty saxophone recital at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 18, in Meyer Recital Hall of Casebolt Music Center on the Bolivar campus.

Secret Service director to speak at SBU on Constitution Day
Retired United States Marine Corps Gen. Randolph "Tex" Alles, current director of the U.S. Secret Service, will speak during the Chapel service at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 17, in Pike Auditorium at Southwest Baptist University.

Waldrep to give poetry reading on Sept. 13
The Barnett-Padgett Literary Artist Series of Southwest Baptist University will be presenting "poet extraordinaire" G.C. Waldrep in a reading of his work at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 13, in the Davis-Newport Theatre of the Jester Learning & Performance Center on the Bolivar campus.
