SBU places first at computer programming competition

Skinkle named new provost at SBU

Southwest Baptist University has selected Lee Skinkle, Ph.D., as its next provost, effective June 1. As provost, Skinkle will be the university's chief academic officer, providing visionary leadership and direction for all academic areas.

C. Pat Run 5K is April 16; community welcome

The Southwest Baptist University Student Association is hosting the fourth annual C. Pat Run 5K at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 23. The race begins and ends on the SBU campus.

SBU reaccredited by Higher Learning Commission

Southwest Baptist University was approved for continued accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission, the University's regional accrediting body, March 21.

Ten SBU CIS students qualify for PBL nationals

Ten students in Southwest Baptist University's Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) Department prequalified from state-level competitions to compete at the Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) National Leadership Conference taking place June 24-27 in Atlanta, Ga. SBU and University of Missouri had more students qualify for the national competition than any other Missouri universities.

Legacy of SBU's First Lady, Judy Taylor, celebrated

About 1,000 students, alumni, staff and friends of SBU gathered March 30 in SBU's Mabee Chapel to honor the life of Judy Taylor, wife of SBU President Dr. C. Pat Taylor. Together, they are the longest-serving president and first lady in the University's 138-year history. She passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016, in Bolivar, leaving behind a legacy of dedicated service to the kingdom and the University.
