The Southwest Baptist University Department of Music will present "Winds and Friends," featuring the SBU Wind Symphony, at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 9, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.
SBU seeks public comment on new academic program in Salem
Mercy College of Nursing & Health Sciences of Southwest Baptist University is seeking comments from the public about expansion of the Bridge-RN program at the University's Salem campus. The Missouri State Board of Nursing will conduct a site visit April 28, 2017.

SBU CIS students design mobile app for Missouri State Fair
Four Southwest Baptist University Computer and Information Sciences students met with Missouri Lt. Gov. Mike Parson on Feb. 23 to present their design of a mobile application that will be used by fairgoers at the 2017 Missouri State Fair in Sedalia.

SBU to host Founders' Day, award honorary doctorates
John A. Bryant '61 of Bolivar, and Charles E. Clemmons, Jr.,'59 of Seabrook, Texas, will receive honorary doctorates from Southwest Baptist University during the annual Founders' Day chapel service at 10 a.m. Monday, March 6, in Pike Auditorium.

Southwest Baptist University will graduate students at three commencement ceremonies this spring.
Speaking Bearcats claim fourth state title in five years
For the fourth time in five years, the Southwest Baptist University Speaking Bearcats are state champions after capturing the Overall Sweepstakes in the open division of the Missouri Association of Forensics Activities Championship held Feb. 17-18 at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg.

Two SBU students to be crowned Mr. and Miss Southwest
Southwest Baptist University continues the tradition of honoring one male and one female student each year at the annual Mr. and Miss Southwest Pageant, which takes place this year at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 3, in Pike Auditorium on the SBU campus.

Southwest Baptist University will be hosting "The Circle of Impacting Ministry" workshop, presented by Glenn Miller, CEO of the Miller Management Systems, LLC, from 6-7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 2, in Room 101 of the Wheeler Science Building on the Bolivar campus.
