Free concert to be presented by SBU's Chamber Orchestra

BOLIVAR, Mo. – The Southwest Baptist University Chamber Orchestra will be in concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, in the Meyer Recital Hall in the Casebolt Music Center on the Bolivar campus.

Under the direction of Andy Johnston, the Chamber Orchestra will present a varied program of Baroque, Classical, Twentieth-Century and traditional works, including a beautiful piece for harp and strings by Missouri composer Claude T. Smith, as well as the landler movement from Mahler’s Symphony No. 1, and an arrangement for strings of Bruckner’s choral work “Locus Iste.”

Elizabeth Johnston will join the Chamber Orchestra on violin.

The concert is free and open to the public.
