Speaking Bearcats named overall champion at tournaments

The Southwest Baptist University Speaking Bearcats were crowned the overall champion at the Missouri Mule/Dale Carnegie Swing speech and debate tournament Oct. 20-22, hosted by the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg.

Kirchner has award-winning poetry book published

Southwest Baptist University's Carla Kirchner recently won the Concrete Wolf Press 2016 Chapbook Award for her book of poetry - "The Physics of Love" - published by Concrete Wolf Press.

SBU hosts more than 300 youth at math contests

About 350 number-crunching students from southwest Missouri elementary and middle schools gathered at Southwest Baptist University on Oct. 7 for math contests hosted by the SBU Department of Mathematics.

Summers receives SBU library award

Southwest Baptist University student Hailey Summers of Berryville, Ark., was honored by the SBU University Libraries as the Outstanding Student Assistant of the Month for September 2017.

Tickets on sale for 'Ye Olde Madrigal Dinners'

Tickets are now on sale for the 14th annual "Ye Olde Madrigal Dinners," which will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30 and Friday, Dec. 1 in the McClelland Dining Facility on the Southwest Baptist University Bolivar campus.

Lynch to speak about Missouri Constitution

Southwest Baptist University's Department of History and Political Science will present Judge Gary Lynch, Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District, at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11, in Meyer Recital Hall on the Bolivar campus.
