SBU celebrates Women in STEM

As the United Nations hosts the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on Feb. 11, Southwest Baptist University also celebrates the women - both faculty and students - working and studying in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields.

SBU to present High School Invitational Choir in concert Feb. 15

Southwest Baptist University will host the 2020 High School Invitational Choir in a concert of choral music at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.

Speaking Bearcats are champions of Gorlok Gala

The Southwest Baptist University Speaking Bearcats got off to a strong start to the second half of the 2019-2020 season by winning the 22nd Gorlok Gala Tournament on Jan. 24-26, hosted by Webster University in St. Louis.

SBU students receive awards at Kennedy Center Theatre Festival

Southwest Baptist University theatre students recently were honored at the 52nd annual Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, which celebrates work by colleges and universities in the eight-state region during 2019, on Jan. 19-24, 2020, in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Brown Guest Artist Series to host free workshop for music educators Feb. 8

The William and Kathy Brown Guest Artist Series will host a free workshop for music educators conducted by Joyce McCall, Ph.D., from 10:30 a.m-4 p.m., Feb. 8, in the Meyer Recital Hall on Southwest Baptist University's Bolivar campus.

SBU DPT students take part in MLK Day of Service

The mission statement of Southwest Baptist University calls for the university to prepare students "to be servant leaders in a global society," so it's not uncommon for SBU students to serve on mission projects at home and abroad.

SBU now accepting Classic Learning Test

Southwest Baptist University is now accepting the Classic Learning Test for admissions decisions and awarding academic scholarships.

SBU to host 30 high school basketball games, playoffs, beginning Jan. 25

Southwest Baptist University will host 30 high school basketball games in January through March, beginning with the CMH Shootout, which is in its seventh year, on Saturday, Jan. 25 on the Bolivar campus.
