SBU Partners with Niche on Direct Admissions
SBU is excited to announce a partnership with Niche and its Direct Admissions program as an innovative way to provide real-time acceptance and scholarship offers to students. Based on the information in their Niche Profile, high school seniors who meet the criteria for enrolling will immediately be notified that SBU wants them to join its incoming class.
Fall Commencement 2025 to be held Friday
Southwest Baptist University will be awarding degrees to graduating students during three commencement ceremonies -- on Friday, December 13, in the Jane and Ken Meyer Wellness and Sports Center on the Bolivar campus.
SBU Physical Therapy Accreditation Reaffirmed
The Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) recently announced its reaffirmation of its accreditation of Southwest Baptist University's Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program for the next 10 years. The reaffirmation took effect October 29, 2024.
SBU's Annual Festival of Christmas
The 44th annual Festival of Christmas, presented by Southwest Baptist University and Community Outreach Ministries, will take place at 6 p.m., Sunday, December 8, in Pike Auditorium on SBU's Bolivar campus.

Southwest Baptist University's Board of Trustees held their semiannual meeting on October 22, 2024, on SBU's campus. The Trustees made several key decisions during the afternoon business sessions.
SBU Mathematics Professor Emeritus speaks on the use of Artificial Intelligence to Math and Science Educators
Dr. Kevin Hopkins, Southwest Baptist University mathematics professor emeritus, recently gave three presentations on the use of generative Artificial Intelligence in Math and Science Education. His first two presentations were titled "What is AI?" and were given at Interface 2024 on September 28 and October 1.
SBU Competitive Programming Team Triumphs in Hack Midwest Hackathon
S BU's competitive programming team, made up of Cybersecurity senior Jacob Minder (from Kansas City, Missouri) and Software Engineering junior Elijah Daugherty (from Fair Grove, MO), secured first place in the highly competitive Hack Midwest Hackathon, outshining 25 other teams to place first in the Collegiate Division of Hack Midwest. The event was held in Kansas City, Missouri, between 28th and 29th September 2024.
