SBU appoints Griffith as Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Chief of Staff

Southwest Baptist University has named Dr. C. Ryan Griffith as Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Chief of Staff, and Associate Professor of Church History. Griffith comes to SBU after serving as Pastor and Director of Operations and Training at Cities Church in St. Paul, Minn. Griffith also serves as a Consultant and Coach for Context Succession, LLC, as a lead product developer to help privately held corporations in transitioning leadership from one generation to the next.

SBU receives $1.1 million gift to help establish The Blair Endowed Center for Training and Pastoral Health

Southwest Baptist University is excited to announce that it has received a $1.1 million endowed estate, with a portion of the gift set to establish The Blair Endowed Center for Training and Pastoral Health. The center will be utilized to support and encourage pastors and other leaders in ministry to navigate the stressors and demands that accompany leadership and ministry.

DeWitt named Senior Fellow, Executive Director of the Center for Worldview Analysis and Cultural Engagement at SBU

Southwest Baptist University is pleased to announce Dr. Daniel A. DeWitt as Senior Fellow, Executive Director of the Center for Worldview Analysis and Cultural Engagement, and Professor of Worldview and Culture for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Valentine to serve as SBU's new Director of Discipleship and Campus Pastor

Stedman Valentine has been named the Director of Discipleship and Campus Pastor at Southwest Baptist University, the school announced Monday, June 13. Valentine joins the SBU family after serving in multiple pastoral care roles over the last several years, most recently as the Young Adult & College Director at First Baptist Church-Branson, The Bridge.

SBU announces Sheehy as new Director of Athletics

Clark Sheehy has been named the new Director of Athletics at Southwest Baptist University, the school announced Wednesday, June 1. Sheehy, the current men's head basketball coach at SBU, will oversee the University's 17 varsity sports, which include more than 400 student-athletes. The Bearcats compete on the NCAA Division-II level and in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).

Knight, Eads receive Life Beautiful Awards at SBU commencement

Southwest Baptist University conferred 355 undergraduate degrees during two ceremonies Friday, May 20, and 225 graduate degrees during a ceremony Saturday, May 21 in the Jane and Ken Meyer Wellness and Sports Center on the Bolivar campus.

SBU CIS seniors present projects for 2021-22

Southwest Baptist University's Division of Computing and Mathematics recently had 28 computing seniors work on and present seven projects sponsored by several leading companies and organizations, including the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank.

Southwest Baptist University recently was named one of Missouri's two 2022 Editor's Picks for Best Online and Campus-Based Christian Bachelor's Degrees in America, as selected by ChristianMinistryEDU.org.
