The American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA)’s What Will They Learn?® (WWTL) initiative grants Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri, an “A” grade for the strength of its general education program.
Colleges and universities receive grades from WWTL based on whether they require seven subjects that form the minimum of a rigorous education in the arts and sciences: composition, literature, (intermediate-level) foreign language, U.S. government or history, economics, mathematics, and natural science.
Southwest Baptist University’s robust requirements consist of courses like American history, biology, and economics (required at only 3% of institutions nationwide). This means that the university guarantees all undergraduates a robust education across the liberal arts.
