Scholarships and Financial Aid

As an SBU DPT student, you may be eligible for a variety of scholarship and financial aid opportunities. In addition to federal financial aid available through the FAFSA, students may utilize private educational loans to help finance their education and are encouraged to explore external scholarship opportunities. Outside scholarships are stackable with the institutional scholarships listed above.

 

DPT Merit-Based Scholarship Opportunities

Tier 1 
$30,000 Total Scholarship ($10,000/year) • 5 awards annually 
Awarded to students admitted with an Overall GPA of 3.85 or higher. To retain the award, recipients must maintain a 3.25 graduate GPA throughout the DPT program and remain free from professional behavior probation. 

Tier 2 
$22,500 Total Scholarship ($7,500/year) • 10 awards annually 
Awarded to students admitted with an Overall GPA of 3.60-3.84. To retain the award, recipients must maintain a 3.25 graduate GPA throughout the DPT program and remain free from professional behavior probation. 

Tier 3 
$9,000 Total Scholarship ($3,000/year) • 25 awards annually 
Awarded to students admitted with an Overall GPA of 3.30-3.59. To retain the award, recipients must maintain a 3.25 graduate GPA throughout the DPT program and remain free from professional behavior probation. 

SBU Graduate Scholarship

$9,000 Total Scholarship ($3,000/year) • Unlimited awards available 
Awarded to students who have completed a bachelor's degree from Southwest Baptist University and are admitted to the DPT program. To retain the award, recipients must maintain a 3.25 graduate GPA throughout the DPT program and remain free from professional behavior probation. This scholarship is not stackable with merit-based scholarships. Students will receive the highest scholarship award for which they qualify. 

Preferred Partner School Scholarships

$7,500 Total Scholarship ($2,500/year) • Limited awards available 
Awarded to all admitted students from a preferred partner institution. This scholarship is not stackable with merit-based scholarships. Students will receive the highest scholarship award for which they qualify.

FAFSA

Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to receive any aid for which you may qualify. SBU's recommended deadline for submitting the FAFSA is March 15. If you have questions, contact the SBU Office of Financial Aid at (417) 328-1822.
