Congratulations on your selection to the 2019 Southwest Baptist University Band Day - an honor band experience for select high school wind and percussion students. Your band director has nominated you based on your outstanding musical contributions and talent. This an opportunity for you to join other talented students from the area in a day of music making on the campus of SBU. The day consists of masterclasses on all instruments, full band rehearsals, lunch and dinner, and an evening performance in beautiful Pike Auditorium. The events are complimentary for all selected students - there is no cost for participation in this event, which highlights the talents of top band students in the area. You are responsible for transportation to and from SBU. Parents and directors are welcome to attend the day’s events at no cost. Conductor for the event is Dr. Brian K. Hopwood, Professor of Music and Director of Instrumental Studies at SBU. Please provide us with the information below so that we may contact you directly with more details.
