Each band director may nominate up to five players ranking the players from 1-5 by ability. At least one student from each school submitting nominations will be included in the honor band. A balanced instrumentation will influence the selection process. Please communicate with your students about their nomination, but wait until communication from SBU about their selections. This is a three-step online process: 1) Nominate your top 5 players by Sept. 27th and communicate with those students; 2) Wait for selection and notification from all of the nominations submitted (Oct. 4th); 3) Notify those students invited with the letter and obtain their response (yes or no) by Oct. 11th.
