Academic programs
SBU's Division of Computing & Mathematics offers seven bachelor's degree programs in the areas of computing and mathematics.
Area of Computing
SBU's computing degree programs are nationally-recognized. SBU is a leading U.S. institution among evangelical Christian colleges in producing computing professionals and computer scientists. Learn more about our computing majors by exploring these programs:
- Computer Information Science
- Computer Science (can be combined with a mathematics double major)
- Computer Science Education
- Cybersecurity
- Web Systems and Design
In addition to our overall University accreditation, the Computer Science and Cybersecurity degrees have additional certification from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). As of 2021, SBU is one of only eight universities in the entire nation to have an ABET-accredited cybersecurity degree!
Area of Mathematics
SBU's mathematics degree programs teach mathematics skills, such as graphical presentation of information and logical reasoning, from a Christian perspective. Graduates are prepared for continued scholarships, positions of leadership, teaching opportunities, graduate school, and other career opportunities.
