For Alex Huff, the combination of Southwest Baptist University’s commitment to a Christ-centered
and caring environment, the connections he made, and the generous financial aid offered
made SBU a great value that is already paying off for him.
“The faculty at SBU are second to none, not only in scholarly excellence, but also
in genuine care for each student,” said Huff, who graduated from SBU in 2014 with
a degree in economics/finance.
Connections with faculty who demonstrated this genuine care helped Alex secure a job
with Edward Jones as a financial advisor.
“Like most of my classmates, I had a job offer before I graduated,” said Huff, who
graduated from SBU in 2014 with a degree in economics/finance. “My academic advisor
and dean connected me to my career by instilling in me a love of finance and introducing
me to my employer.”
As an alum, Alex eagerly takes advantage of opportunities to share about the impact
SBU has had on his life.
“When someone comes into my office and sees my diploma from SBU proudly displayed,
clients often ask me about my alma mater,” he said. “I tell them that Southwest Baptist
University is a Christ-centered, caring academic community that prepared me to be
a servant leader in a global society.”
Alex wants to encourage prospective students to consider the full value of what they
will receive at SBU, from the superior academic quality to the personalized attention
from faculty to the many scholarship opportunities.
“For me, SBU was a great value,” said Huff. “The University offered me a very generous
scholarship package and helped me qualify for federal financial aid as well. I would
encourage you to look not just at the price tag, because most students don’t pay full
price, but to consider the value of your investment. And the quality of education
you’ll get at SBU, I believe, is second to none.”
