BOLIVAR, Mo. – Southwest Baptist University student Kala Svendsen of Everton was honored by the SBU University Libraries as the Outstanding Student Assistant of the Month for April 2017.
University Libraries’ faculty and staff established the monthly award to recognize outstanding employment characteristics – dependability, quality of work, motivation, attitude and cooperation – demonstrated by the student assistants employed at the library.
Svendsen, an athletic training major, received an award letter from Dr. Edward W. Walton, dean of University Libraries, a certificate of recognition and a gift. Svendsen is a student assistant working in technical services and is one of the 30 part-time student assistants working at the library as a part of SBU’s work-study program.
