SBU presents spring chorale concert

The Chorale of Southwest Baptist University will present its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, at the First Baptist Church in Bolivar, Mo. The concert is free and open to the public.

Under the direction of Dr. James Tarrant, professor of music and director of choral studies, the Chorale will perform Requiem in D minor, op. 48 and Cantique de Jean Racine, op. 11 by Gabriel Fauré. Assisting in the concert will be Vicky Claborne, organ, and Kristin Ham, harp.

The Chorale of SBU is the premiere choral ensemble of the University and has performed extensively across the state, country and world. This selectively auditioned ensemble performs regularly for major music education and denominational conventions. In addition to numerous appearances each year at schools, churches and major state gatherings, the Chorale regularly does performance tours in Europe. In the last decade, the ensemble has performed in cathedrals in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic.

The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the SBU Music Office at (417) 328-1644.
