"The SBU Sound Crowd" to present concert April 4

BOLIVAR, Mo. – Southwest Baptist University’s Department of Music will present “The SBU Sound Crowd” in a one-night performance at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 4 in Meyer Recital Hall on the Bolivar campus.

The concert is free and open to the public.

“The SBU Sound Crowd” is the university’s pop vocal ensemble comprised of nine singers. The ensemble’s playlist will include some of the best-known vocal jazz hits of recent history from composers such as Dizzy Gillespie, Duke Ellington, Joe Ricardel, Louis Prima and others. The repertoire spans almost 80 years of jazz along with several contemporary selections.

“The SBU Sound Crowd” includes Ilene Adair, Rachel Farmer, Bridgette Hart, Hayley Hershenson, Olivia Howard, Charlton Miller, Caleb Mooney, Nathan Murfin and Brittany Tarrant, and is under the direction of Dr. James Tarrant, director of choral studies at SBU.
