BOLIVAR, Mo. — Southwest Baptist University is set to graduate 214 students at two winter 2016 commencement ceremonies. The Bolivar campus will hold commencement at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, in the Jane and Ken Meyer Wellness and Sports Center.
Dr. Carolyn Bishop, president of the Consortium for Global Education, will deliver the commencement address at the Bolivar ceremony. Dr. Bishop began her work with CGE, an international education organization, in 1997 after completing her Ph.D. at Emory University in Educational Leadership and Supervision.
Dr. Bishop assists internationalization of education through partnerships and training national experts. She leads CGE in providing professional certification, J-12 visa exchanges, study abroad programs and international recruiting models.
Dr. Bishop earned her undergraduate degree from Furman University, her M.Ed. at Clemson University and her Diploma for Advanced Study in Teaching from Emory.
She and her husband, David, live in Atlanta and enjoy running and spending time with their two married daughters and their husbands, and five grandchildren.
The Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences of SBU will hold winter commencement at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Springfield.
Logan Williams, ASN graduate, will deliver the Springfield campus commencement address. ASN graduate Benande Molme will sing “How Great Thou Art,” accompanied by Gerald Adams, also an ASN graduate.
