SBU Concert, Bolivar Community choirs to present Spring concert

BOLIVAR, Mo. – The Southwest Baptist University Concert Choir and Bolivar Community Chorus will present their Spring concert, which is free and open to the public, at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.

Under the direction of Dr. Jim Tarrant, director of choral studies at SBU, the combined ensemble will present a program covering a wide variety of styles and genres. Included in the program will be “Regina coeli” by W.A. Mozart, with voice faculty member Traci Pritchard, soprano, assisting. Works by Shawn Kirchner, Eric Whitacre and Michael John Trotta, also will be featured in the program.

The SBU Concert Choir, the large, non-auditioned choir on campus, often is joined by the Bolivar Community Chorus, which consists of singers of all ages and abilities from the area.
