SBU's Casebolt College presents "The Casebolt Project" on April 6

BOLIVAR, Mo. — Southwest Baptist University’s Casebolt College of Music, Arts, and Letters will present “The Casebolt Project – A Fine Arts Program” at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 6, in Meyer Recital Hall.

The project is a joint venture of the Department of Language and Literature, the Bob R. Derryberry School of Communication Arts, the Department of Art, and the Department of Music.

This year, the program will feature “ekphrastic” works of art. An “ekphrastic” is a type of re-imaging of a given work of visual art, using words or music. Two paintings created by SBU students have been used to inspire and generate original poetry, drama, speech and music, created by other students in the Casebolt College of Music, Arts, and Letters.

The program is free and open to the public.
