BOLIVAR, Mo. — Robbie Bryant, MEP Maintenance Supervisor for Southwest Baptist University’s Physical Plant, recently received the Educational Facilities Professional (EFP) credential, announced by the APPA.
The EFP is a way to validate the unique knowledge and competency required of an accomplished professional in the educational facilities field.
“The APPA EFP designation is a knowledge-based credential for educational facilities
professionals and industry suppliers looking to validate their depth-of-knowledge
in the core educational facilities management topics deemed critical by employers,”
John Morris, chair of APPA's Board for EFP Certification, said in a release.
“Aspiring educational facility professionals who obtain the must-have EFP credential demonstrate their understanding of the core knowledge and skills, enhance their career opportunities and gain immediate credibility with employers, clients and peers.”
The credential is both a professional and personal accomplishment for Bryant.
“My goal in the future is to be a facilities manager at an educational institution,” Bryant said. “I believe this credential will prove itself very valuable in establishing credibility when I start seeking a facilities management position.”
The EFP credential represents core knowledge, talent and skill, underscoring accountability and commitment to growth and mastery, APPA Executive Vice President Lander Medlin said in a release.
“The curriculum is rigorous and covers a broad area of subjects,” Bryant said. “It has helped me to realize that, with God’s help, I can accomplish the things I have set out to accomplish.”
