BOLIVAR, Mo. — Southwest Baptist University senior Matthew Randolph of Lebanon, Mo., recently passed
both parts of the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam. CMA certification is
a professional credential that can be earned in the advanced management accounting
and financial management fields.
According to the Institute of Management Accountants’ website (www.imanet.org), the CMA exam “has been the global benchmark for management accountants and financial professionals” for more than 40 years.
“The two-part CMA exam is considered very rigorous,” said Jenell Wagner, EA, CMA and assistant professor of accounting at SBU. “To take and pass this exam before graduation is a big accomplishment. You make us proud, Matt!”
Randolph is the first SBU student to take the CMA exam before completing his degree. After graduating and satisfying a two-year experience requirement, he will officially receive his CMA certification.
“SBU’s accounting faculty are personally invested in ensuring the success of every student, and I couldn’t have achieved this without their support or commitment to my education,” Randolph said. “I thank God for SBU and I thank SBU Accounting for preparing me for my future and giving me the confidence I will now have in my accounting profession.”
