BOLIVAR, Mo. – Southwest Baptist University students in the Multi-Media for Non-Profit Organizations and TV II Production classes recently received five awards, including two first-place honors, in the 2017 Missouri Broadcast Educators Association Media Contest.
SBU competed against schools from across the state, including Missouri State University, Evangel University, Drury University, Central Methodist University, University of Central Missouri, Missouri Southern State University, Truman State University and Northwest Missouri State University. Audio and video projects are judged by professionals in the industry.
In the video category, Brandon Pool won first place in News Story Hard for Downtown Bolivar; Anna Thorne and Jessica Sanders received honorable mention in both animation and public service announcement for their Good Samaritan Boys Ranch motion PSA.
In the audio category, Laura Kester, Brittany VanHoecke and Brooke Cudworth won first place in PSA for Alpha House Radio PSA; and Thorne and Sanders were honorable mention for their Good Samaritan Boys Ranch PSA.
