Speaking Bearcats claim fourth state title in five years
For the fourth time in five years, the Southwest Baptist University Speaking Bearcats are state champions after capturing the Overall Sweepstakes in the open division of the Missouri Association of Forensics Activities Championship held Feb. 17-18 at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg.

Two SBU students to be crowned Mr. and Miss Southwest
Southwest Baptist University continues the tradition of honoring one male and one female student each year at the annual Mr. and Miss Southwest Pageant, which takes place this year at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 3, in Pike Auditorium on the SBU campus.

SBU to host "The Circle of Impacting Ministry" workshop March 2
Southwest Baptist University will be hosting "The Circle of Impacting Ministry" workshop, presented by Glenn Miller, CEO of the Miller Management Systems, LLC, from 6-7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 2, in Room 101 of the Wheeler Science Building on the Bolivar campus.

"The Curious Savage" coming to SBU Theatre
Southwest Baptist University Theatre is presenting John Patrick's "The Curious Savage" at 7 p.m. Feb. 23-25 in the Davis-Newport Theatre on the Bolivar campus.
SBU graphic design students to present "Art of the Poster"
Southwest Baptist University will host a graphic art show from Feb. 20 through March 10 at the Driskill Art Gallery on the Bolivar campus.

SBU library to host second annual Comic Con
Southwest Baptist University's Harriett K. Hutchins Library will present its second annual Comic Con from noon-6 p.m., Saturday, March 4, on the Bolivar campus.
SBU hosts more than 600 youth at math contests
About 620 number-crunching students from Missouri and Kansas elementary and middle schools gathered at Southwest Baptist University on Jan. 21 and Jan. 28 for math contests hosted by the SBU Department of Mathematics. The 18th annual competition provided a positive educational experience and encouraged the enjoyment and study of mathematics.
