Speaking Bearcats open season with victory
In a season of virtual competition, the Southwest Baptist University Speaking Bearcats opened 2020-2021 with an overall sweepstakes victory in the Missouri Mule tournament on Oct. 16-17 at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg.
"Diving Into Diversity" provides forum to discuss race
As an extension of Southwest Baptist University's Fall Chapel series - "Engaging Our Broken World" - the University Activities Council hosted a forum on "Diving Into Diversity" on Tuesday, Oct. 20 in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.

SBU Choral Ensembles to present outdoor concert on Nov. 3
The Southwest Baptist University Division of Arts and Humanities will present an outdoor evening of choral music at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 3 on the Burnidge Memorial Forum on the Bolivar campus.

SBU President submits resignation
Southwest Baptist University President Dr. Eric A. Turner submitted his resignation to the SBU Board of Trustees during the Board's regular meeting Tuesday, Oct. 20. His resignation is effective Nov. 20 at the conclusion of the fall semester's commencement ceremonies.
SBU student-led revival - "The Awakening" - to be held Oct. 23-25
"The Awakening," a three-day student-led event for the sole purpose of seeking God to bring revival within the University family and Bolivar community, will be held Friday-Sunday, Oct. 23-25, on the Bolivar campus.

SBU's Wind Symphony, University Band to present concert Oct. 15
The Southwest Baptist University Division of Arts and Humanities will present the Wind Symphony and University Band in concert at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 15, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.

SBU hosts virtual Homecoming for alumni
Southwest Baptist University hosted its 2020 Homecoming Weekend on Oct. 2-3 with alumni celebrating - from home. SBU had to shift to a virtual Homecoming because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Locke, Campbell named SBU Homecoming King and Queen
Cooper Locke and Hailey Campbell were announced as the 2020 Southwest Baptist University Homecoming King and Queen during Homecoming Chapel on Oct. 2.
