Grabowski receives honor from Penn State

mark.grabowskiBOLIVAR, Mo. – Southwest Baptist University Director of Safety and Security Mark Grabowski recently was honored by his alma mater, Penn State University, with the Alumni Service Award from the Penn State College of Health & Human Development.

Grabowski, and three other award recipients – all graduates of the College of Health & Human Development – were honored at the college’s Alumni Society Board Awards Dinner as having distinguished themselves in their careers and service.

“It was a wonderful experience to be home at my alma mater to receive this prestigious award,” Grabowski said. “I am so humbled.”

Grabowski graduated from PSU in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in recreation and parks, and later earned master’s degrees in religious education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and in criminal justice from Drury University.

In addition, he has served on mission trips with SBU and First Baptist Church of Bolivar.

Grabowski has served as the director of safety and security at SBU since 1991. He was appointed as the 2017 assistant regional vice president for ASIS International, the leading organization for security professionals, and has obtained various professional certifications, including Certified Protection Professional from ASIS International, Certified Protection Officer from the International Foundation for Protection Officers and Certified Safety and Health Specialist from the National Safety Council.

Grabowski is a graduate of Benton (Pa.) High School and is the son of Ron and Carol Grabowski of Berwick, Pa.
