SBU debuts new art show, will host artist reception

SBU's current exhibit features local printmakers Deby Gilley and Marian Stahl ChamberlainSouthwest Baptist University’s fifth exhibition of the 2015-2016 academic year features artwork by local printmakers Deby Gilley and Marian Stahl Chamberlain (whose work is pictured). Entitled “People, Time, and Place,” the show runs through Wednesday, Feb. 17.

The show will feature linocuts and woodcuts by Gilley—an adjunct professor of art at SBU who is well known for her printmaking—and etchings and drypoint prints by Chamberlain, who has also served as an art educator and whose work has been in many juried regional shows.

The artists will be in attendance at a reception from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4., in the Driskill Art Gallery, situated on the SBU campus in the Jester Learning and Performance Center. The Driskill Art Gallery is free of admission and open to the public on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
