Hardin to speak at SBU's Constitution Day

BOLIVAR, Mo. — Dr. John Hardin will be the featured speaker at Southwest Baptist University’s Constitution Day at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 15, in the Joe Roberts Room of the McClelland Dining Facility on the Bolivar campus.

Hardin’s talk, which will focus on free speech and the First Amendment, commemorates Constitution Day, which marks the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787.

“We’re excited to have another great speaker help us think about the Constitution and how we should live under its principles in the modern world,” said Dr. Coyle Neal, assistant professor of political science.

Hardin, who earned his Ph.D. in history from the University of Maryland, is the director of university relations for the Charles Koch Foundation, and specializes in university issues and free speech.

The event is free and open to the public.
