Southwest Baptist University music faculty Regina Bruner, Melinda Smashey-Jones and Carol Harrison will present a recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, in Meyer Recital Hall in the Casebolt Music Center.
The recital will feature selections by 20th-century composers featuring the clarinet. The repertoire includes “Dance Preludes” by Witold Lutoslawski, “Hillandale Waltzes” by Victor Babin and “Trio for Clarinet, Violin, and Piano” by Aram Khachaturian. The program will conclude with a short tribute to Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw, known as the “Kings of Clarinet Swing.”
