Belz to give poetry reading at SBU

BOLIVAR, Mo. — The Barnett-Padgett Literary Artist Series of Southwest Baptist University will be presenting poet Aaron Belz in a reading of his work at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 28, in Rohrs Auditorium of the Taylor Center on the Bolivar campus.

Belz has given live readings in numerous venues ranging from literary salons, bookstores, university classrooms, improv workshops, literary festivals and comedy festivals.

He has released three full-length books of poems, including “Glitter Bomb,” and two chapbooks.

Belz, who lives in Hillsborough, N.C., has had his work published in American journals, including “Fence,” “Boston Review,” “Eleven Eleven” and “Zócalo Public Square.” Internationally, his work has appeared in “Van Gogh’s Ear,” “Jacket” and “Tears in the Fence.”

The reading, which is free and open to the public, will be followed by a book signing.
