Bolivar Chamber selects SBU as Large Business of the Year

SBU Concert, Bolivar Community choirs to present fall concert

The Southwest Baptist University Concert Choir and the Bolivar Community Choir will present their annual fall concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.

Abbott receives SBU Library award

Southwest Baptist University student Jamie Abbott of Springdale, Ark., was honored by the SBU University Libraries as the Outstanding Student Assistant of the Month for October 2016.

SBU's Wind Symphony, University Band perform Thursday

The Southwest Baptist University Department of Music will present the Wind Symphony and University Band in concert at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 17, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus. Both ensembles are under the direction of Dr. Brian Hopwood, professor of music and director of instrumental studies.

SBU Speaking Bearcats well-represented at Tulsa

The Southwest Baptist University Speaking Bearcats continued their 2016-2017 campaign with a strong showing at the Green Country Swing speech and debate tournament hosted by Tulsa Community College on Oct. 28-30.

SBU Opera Workshop to present Fall Opera Scenes

The Southwest Baptist University Opera Workshop will present the Fall Opera Scenes at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15, in the Davis-Newport Theatre of the Jester Learning and Performance Center on the Bolivar campus.

SBU, Drury square off in annual CatFight Giving Challenge

Southwest Baptist University and Drury University will battle once again in the third-annual CatFight Giving Challenge, through which the universities compete to raise money for their annual funds. Last year, SBU topped Drury in the friendly contest by raising $18,955 to Drury's $13,587.50.

SBU, Enactus USA honor Rohrs with tree dedication

Southwest Baptist University joined with Enactus USA to pay tribute to recently retired Enactus CEO and 1979 SBU graduate Dr. Alvin Rohrs at a tree dedication ceremony Monday, Oct. 31, on the Bolivar campus.
