SBU to Sell Salem Facility, Lease Back Space to Continue Degree Programs

Southwest Baptist University has agreed to sell the Gott Center for Christian Education in Salem to the Salem Board of Education, strengthening its relationship with the Salem community while continuing to offer degree programs through the campus.

Board of Trustees Adopts New Strategic Plan for SBU

The strategic direction of Southwest Baptist University was set during the University's Fall Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, October 17. In addition to reviewing the 2023-2024 budget and approving tuition rates for the 2024-2025 academic year, the trustees unanimously adopted a strategic plan to guide the university to its sesquicentennial anniversary in 2028.

SBU Forensics Teams brings home awards from two tournaments.

The SBU Forensics Team hosted the Derryberry Season Opener tournament on September 30, with over 150 participants and 22 colleges. SBU brought home several awards.

SBU Nursing Graduates Earn 100% NCLEX Pass Rate

Graduates from Southwest Baptist University's associate's and bachelor's programs in nursing earned a 100 percent pass rate on the National Council of State Boards of Nursing NCLEX exam this spring.

Quackenbos, Kimbrough Appointed Endowed Chairs

Southwest Baptist University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Matthew Kimbrough to the Robert and Ruth Powell Chair of Preaching and the appointment of Dr. Dave Quackenbos to the Courts Redford Chair of Biblical Studies.

Nursing Program Receives Grant Funding for MSN Students

Southwest Baptist University has once again received grant funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) that Master of Science in Nursing students can access to cover a significant portion of their tuition. The HRSA provides funding to accredited nursing programs that offer advanced degrees.
