Southwest Baptist University, in cooperation with Convoy of Hope, will host a free
grocery distribution on its Bolivar campus on Saturday, August 26, from 9:00 a.m.
- 12:00 p.m. (or while supplies last).
To ensure everyone's safety and convenience, this will be a drive-through distribution.
Residents will drive up to the designated areas, and SBU faculty, staff and student
volunteers will assist them in receiving groceries without having to leave their vehicle.
Each vehicle will receive two bags of groceries per adult in the vehicle. Grocery
bags will be filled with essential food items to help support and nourish families
and individuals. The aim is to come together as a community by lending a helping hand.
SBU will also have a prayer tent available to lend support, comfort, and offer prayer
for those who wish to participate.
"Serving our neighbors and our community is central to who we are at SBU, and we are
grateful to have a partner like Convoy of Hope to join us in giving back to Bolivar
and the surrounding area," said SBU President Dr. Rick Melson. "Our prayer is that
this blesses many families and displays the heart of Christ in a tangible way."
