"I'm very happy Minh has stepped into this role. We prayed for the Lord to provide someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, a high level of energy, and a deep love for SBU. We get all those things in Minh Dinh. I am excited to see how the Lord uses him to set a trajectory of success in our Club Sports programs," said Dr. Woodyard, Vice President of Student Life.

Club Sports will kick off in Fall of 2026 with pickleball and eSports.

  • In eSports, SBU’s current team competes in Valorant and Marvel Rivals as a member of the Midwest eSports Conference and the Midwest Valley eSports Conference. Expansion in 2026 will add additional games, with titles under consideration including Rocket League, League of Legends, Overwatch, Apex Legends, and Super Smash Brothers.
  • The pickleball team will be evaluating conference opportunities between the National Collegiate Pickleball Association (NCPA) and Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR). Players will be placed into pairs and entered into regional and national competitions; there will also be opportunities to sharpen match skills in singles tournaments. SBU plans to grow the program and be able to host pickleball tournaments on campus in the future.

Looking forward to the fall, this is what Minh had to say: "I am extremely excited for the future of Club Sports at Southwest Baptist University. The foundation of the program will be built in these next several months and I have high expectations where this will go.
