Southwest Baptist University Winter Commencement to be held on December 16

Graduation CeremonySouthwest Baptist University will be awarding degrees to 180 students during two commencement ceremonies — on Friday, December 16, in the Jane and Ken Meyer Wellness and Sports Center on the Bolivar campus.

The bachelor's and graduate degree ceremony is at 3 p.m., and the associate degree commencement is at 6 p.m., Friday, December 16.

Bridgette Hart and Hannah Laws, senior music students, will present the senior music, I Was Here by Diane Warren, at the opening ceremony.

Jennifer Rothschild, Author, Speaker, and Founder of Fresh Grounded Faith, will deliver the commencement address at both ceremonies.

Rothschild has authored 19 books and bible studies, including her latest, Amos: An Invitation to the Good Life. She is known for her substance, signature wit, and down-to-earth style. Rothschild has been blind since the age of 15 and says the greatest lesson she’s learned in the dark is that it can be well with your soul even if it isn’t well with your circumstances.

During the first-degree ceremony, Jennifer Rothschild will be presented with an honorary doctorate from Southwest Baptist University for her profound and relatable stories that share Biblical truth with the world. Rothschild is working to make God’s Word accessible to everyone.
