"The SBU Sound Crowd" in concert April 12

BOLIVAR, Mo. – Southwest Baptist University’s Division of Arts and Humanities will present “The SBU Sound Crowd” in a one-night performance at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 12 in Meyer Recital Hall on the Bolivar campus.

“The SBU Sound Crowd” is the university’s pop vocal ensemble comprised of eight singers. The ensemble’s playlist will include some of the best-known vocal jazz and swing hits of recent history from composers such as Dizzy Gillespie, Duke Ellington, Bart Howard, Louis Prima and others.  The repertoire spans almost 80 years of jazz, as well as several contemporary selections.

Members of “The SBU Sound Crowd” include Hayley Hershenson, Bridgette Hart, Lauren Berry, Libby Kammerer, Joshua Robertson, Aaron Allchin, Caleb Smith and Marcus Falcomata. Instrumentalists will be Riley Robinson on double bass, and Dr. Jim Tarrant, director of the ensemble, on piano.

The concert is free and open to the public and will be available via livestream.
