SBU Theatre to present "Hamlet" on Nov. 12-15

Southwest Baptist University Theatre will present an adaptation of William Shakespeare's, "Hamlet," at 7 p.m., Nov. 12-14, and at a special matinee performance at 2 p.m., Nov. 15, in the Davis-Newport Theatre on the Bolivar campus.

SBU welcomes new members to Board of Trustees

Six new members were appointed to the Southwest Baptist University's Board of Trustees on Oct. 27, during the annual Missouri Baptist Convention at the St. Charles Convention Center.

SBU dominates K.C. Federal Reserve Bank Code-A-Thon

Southwest Baptist University's Division of Computing and Mathematics Competitive Programming teams claimed two of the top three spots in the fifth annual Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank's Code-A-Thon, which was held online Oct. 23-25.

Speaking Bearcats open season with victory

In a season of virtual competition, the Southwest Baptist University Speaking Bearcats opened 2020-2021 with an overall sweepstakes victory in the Missouri Mule tournament on Oct. 16-17 at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg.

"Diving Into Diversity" provides forum to discuss race

As an extension of Southwest Baptist University's Fall Chapel series - "Engaging Our Broken World" - the University Activities Council hosted a forum on "Diving Into Diversity" on Tuesday, Oct. 20 in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.

SBU Choral Ensembles to present outdoor concert on Nov. 3

The Southwest Baptist University Division of Arts and Humanities will present an outdoor evening of choral music at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 3 on the Burnidge Memorial Forum on the Bolivar campus.

SBU President submits resignation

Southwest Baptist University President Dr. Eric A. Turner submitted his resignation to the SBU Board of Trustees during the Board's regular meeting Tuesday, Oct. 20. His resignation is effective Nov. 20 at the conclusion of the fall semester's commencement ceremonies.
