SBU to install Bailey as Miller accounting chair
Sharla Bailey, assistant professor of accounting at Southwest Baptist University, will be installed as the Lenore Miller Accounting Chair during SBU's academic chair installation ceremony at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6 in Rohrs Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.
Ling, Plae receive SBU library awards
Southwest Baptist University students Ling Len and Plae Mae of Fort Worth, Texas, were honored by the SBU University Libraries as Outstanding Student Assistants of the Month for September 2019.

SBU Trustees approve new strategic plan
Southwest Baptist University's Board of Trustees met for its regular fall meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 22. Action items and discussion included approval of the new strategic plan, Peer Assessment Committee report and trustee action.

Area high school bands take home trophies from SBU Homecoming parade
The Southwest Baptist University department of music hosted a band competition as part of the annual Homecoming parade on Oct. 19, 2019, through downtown Bolivar and the SBU campus.

Canfield, Manuel named SBU Homecoming King and Queen
Aaron Canfield and Laura Manuel were announced as the 2019 Southwest Baptist University Homecoming King and Queen at halftime of the Bearcats' football game against Quincy University on Oct. 19.

SBU to present alumni awards during Homecoming Honors Chapel
Homecoming festivities at Southwest Baptist University will begin with Honors Chapel at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in Pike Auditorium, when five alumni will be recognized for living lives of service.
